As Salaamu Alaykum. Welcome to the Islamic Center of America! Thank you for visiting our website. Insha’Allah this center is a source of peace, knowledge, and blessings for you and your loved ones.

Prayer times Masjidu Ahlis Sunnah

Our Facilities

Of all the masaajid in the U.S., only 25% were established before Masjid Ahlis Sunnah. New Jersey ranks fifth in the nation for the number of masaajid; our center is a key part of this. The Islamic Center spans 25,000 sq. ft., with a 19,000 sq. ft. prayer area. It includes two men’s wudoo rooms (22 stations), one women’s wudoo room (5 stations), and four administrative offices.

Our History

The Islamic Center of America was established in 1981 as Masjid Rawdatullah – The Islamic Center of East Orange, with the primary mission of providing a dedicated space for Muslims to worship Allah and strengthen their faith. Recognizing the growing need for a larger facility to accommodate the expanding Muslim community, the center took a significant step in 1983 by purchasing a 5,000 sq. ft. building.

Our Imam

Imam Abu Muslimah was introduced to Islam in 1976 through Imam Abdul Wali Muhammad of Masjidullah in Plainfield, NJ. His interest in Islam grew through Imam Abdul Wali’s teachings and the community at Masjidullah. In 1978, Imam Abu Muslimah fully embraced Islam, guided by the Haqq family of Bait Quraish in Newark, NJ, whose support and shared faith played a key role in his conversion.
