Ramadaan 2025

As Salaamu Alaykum. Welcome to Ramadaan at the Islamic Center of America! Ramadaan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and fasting during this month is a foundational pillar of practicing Islam. During this month, Muslims observe fasting by abstaining from food, drink, and sexual intimacy as an act of devotion to their Creator.

Ramadaan is a special time for worship, reflection, and community. At Masjidu Ahlis Sunnah, we welcome you to join us for nightly Taraweeh prayers, daily iftar, and programs that strengthen faith and unity. Whether you are a lifelong Muslim or new to Islam, our masjid provides a welcoming space to experience the blessings of Ramadaan.

Ramaadan is observed by millions of Muslims around the world. It is a time of spiritual reflection, fasting, prayer, and charity. Ramadan commemorates the moment when the Qur’an, the holy book of Islam, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) over 1,400 years ago.

At the Islamic Center of America, we invite everyone to join us in observing Ramadan together, as a community. Whether through attending prayers, participating in Iftar (breaking the fast) meals, volunteering for various events, or supporting our charitable initiatives, we come together in worship, service, and reflection.

May this blessed month bring peace, blessings, and abundant rewards to all.

Taraweeh

Taraweeh at Masjid Ahlis Sunnah

At Masjid Ahlis Sunnah, the Taraweeh prayer is attended by between 120 and 200 worshippers nightly, including both men and women. The prayer is led by a former student of Madrasatu Ahlis Sunnah, ensuring the community is guided by someone knowledgeable in the practice. To accommodate everyone, half a juz of the Qur’an is recited each night, making the prayer experience manageable and beneficial for all attendees.

Masjids around the world hold Taraweeh prayers, providing worshippers the chance to listen to the recitation of the Qur’an behind skilled reciters, allowing them to reflect on its meaning and strengthen their faith during this holy time.
