What is the Shahaadah?

The Shahaadah is the Islamic declaration of faith and consists of two simple yet profound statements:

  • “Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah” – “I testify that there is no god but Allah.”
  • “Ashhadu anna Muhammadur rasulullah” – “I testify that Muhammad (PBUH) is the messenger of Allah.”

By saying these words with sincere belief, a person enters into the fold of Islam, acknowledging the oneness of Allah and the prophethood of Muhammad (PBUH). It is the most profound and beautiful declaration, representing a commitment to worship Allah alone and follow the teachings of His final messenger.
