Located in NJ, the state which features the 5th most masaajid in the U.S.. Our institution is a key part of the Islamic legacy in this county. Our History
The Islamic Center of America was established in 1981 as Masjid Rawdatullah – The Islamic Center of East Orange, with the primary mission of providing a dedicated space for Muslims to worship Allah and strengthen their faith. Recognizing the growing need for a larger facility that would be able to accommodate the expanding Muslim community, the center took a significant step in 1983 by purchasing a 5,000 sq. ft. building.

Our Imam
Imam Abu Muslimah was introduced to Islam in 1976 through Imam Abdul Wali Muhammad of Masjidullah in Plainfield, NJ. His interest in Islam grew through Imam Abdul Wali’s teachings and the community at Masjidullah. In 1978, Imam Abu Muslimah fully embraced Islam, guided by the Haqq family of Bait Quraish in Newark, NJ, whose support and shared faith played a key role in his conversion.
